Happy Birthday, Big M!

I drink it when I’m happy and when I’m sad.

Sometimes I drink it when I am alone.

When I have company I consider it obligatory.

I trifle with it if I’m not hungry and I drink it when I am.

Otherwise I never touch it, unless I am thirsty.

  1. happy birthday to him! =) this reminds me that I have a cold muscat in the fridge that must be drunk!

  2. Happy Birthday to Mr. M! Hope he has a wonderful day! Wishing him all the best to come in the following year.

  3. Happy Birthday Mr M. 🙂
I have a guilty secret; the only champagne I like is Verve Cliqot and I cant even spell that right!

  4. That looks SO nice…must get some at once. It seems a bit crazy, but sometimes I forget about champers….and then, it is such a lovely rediscovery.

  5. Cheers! And Happy Birthday to Big M. Now I’m off for a glass or two of fizz myself – hick!

  6. Mmmmmhhhhhh Happy Birthday Big M!
Pol Roger, Billecarte Salmon and everything from ’93.
    Miss you

  7. Love it.

I have only one real rule in life – never turn down a cup of tea or a glass of champagne.

    It has served me well…

  8. I feel certain that I must be related to the Bollinger family in some way… what a very sensible woman

Hope you got some bubbles with your friend last week x

  9. Happy Birthday Big M indeed.. and I love that quote from M Bollinger… a lady after my own heart! xx

  10. one day when we are both famous we will toast eachother with Cristal….until then we’ll have to make do with Bolly!!

  11. Big M says

Thank you all for the very kind congratulations. I guess I would consider this my most “official” birthday ever. And today we are celebrating what we call “post-birthday celebration” more Bolly and Metmum is baking up a storm !

  12. Oh lovely!! I remember when I was a teen I was a BIG fan of Duran Duran and I read an interview where Simon le Bon said his favourite drink was Champagne so I went around telling everyone that was my favourite drink too until one of my friends told me to not be an idiot, I hadn’t even had wine yet I was so young (and American–where we don’t often get wine at dinner tables till we’re older, sadly).

  13. Great quote, I’m going to note it down in my “quote book” – I haven’t had a good addition for awhile. Cheers to Mr M’s birthday celebrations!
