La Cucina Caldesi cooking school

cucina caldesi cookery schoolIf you find yourself in a bit of a kitchen rut, I warmly recommend checking out the courses at La Cucina Caldesi cooking school in London’s Marylebone. Big M and I had been given course vouchers as a Christmas present last year, but have only now got round to using them.

cucina caldesi cookery schoolWe chose a ‘Sunday market kitchen’ class with Stefano Borella, who took us down to Marylebone Farmer’s Market (worth a trip on its own) and made us cook a typical three course pranzo della domenica” (Italian for Sunday lunch). On the menu:

  • Ricotta Gnocchi with sautéed tomatoes
  • Fried cheese-stuffed courgette flowers (which desperately made me want to buy a deep fryer)
  • Sausage, beef and pork filet skewers with roast vegetables, roast potatoes and salads
  • Mimosa cake

cucina caldesi cookery schoolStefano is a lot of fun to work with, the time flew by and the meal in the end was worth sweating in the kitchen for a few hours.

cucina caldesi cookery schoolI am truly inspired to cook more, and this would make a lovely Christmas or even wedding present for any couple. Off to the kitchen now!

  1. Love this idea and keep thinking about booking something for the Huzz and I. The food sounds delicious.

  2. this sounds great- and actually I’d promised a friend a course at another place in Notting Hill but they never have dates available so I might look into this

  3. Looks great! I’m not a confident cook and even less so since Mr came along as he is fabulous and does most of our cooking. Have decided I need to cook at least one dinner a week, so I might have to treat myself to something like this.

  4. Big M says

MetMum had me do kitchen duty the next day! Spaghetti with Courgette and Feta, kind of fun actually. I reckon I will see a lot more of the inside of our kitchen once the little pea is out….

  5. It sounds wonderful! Definitely one to put on the Christmas wish list. I love that area of Marylebone, I used to catch the train from London from Marylebone way back when I lived in the Midlands and would sometimes go to the High Street for a while or to meet friends.

  6. Menu looks amazingly. Oh, you cannot imagine how much I love courgettes. I really enjoy cooking, and have been thinking about some cooking course many times. I’m gonna write a letter to Santa.
